Thanks for stopping by my UK and London pre wedding photography page. I am a London based destination wedding photographer who has been photographing weddings, elopements and pre wedding photoshoots around the world for 15 years.
If you are looking for a pre wedding session in London, Paris, Iceland, Santorini, Scotland or any other destination around the world for a then you’re in the right place!
What is a pre wedding photoshoot?
A pre wedding photoshoot is a couples photography session that can be taken in unique locations in London, the UK or anywhere in the world. Shoots can last anywhere from 2 hours up to 3-4 days for adventure pre wedding shoots. The idea is to get some incredible images in locations that would typically not be possible on a wedding day and it’s a great chance for you to get some epic photographs to use before your wedding day, on the day itself and to cherish for years to come as a memory of the time before your wedding.
Pre wedding photography style
My style is fresh and relaxed, and I really focus on telling your pre wedding engagement story by keeping things very natural and fun during the shoot. I favour natural light pre wedding photography and beautiful moments over awkward posing and fake expressions and I love incorporating stunning landscapes and cities into your photoshoot and work closely with couples to ensure the perfect itinerary for your session.

My pre wedding photoshoot packages are extremely popular with couples travelling from Hong Kong, Singapore, China, USA and the rest of Asia who would like to showcase some of these amazing destinations on their wedding day and I love photographing couples all around the world. Planning your UK Pre-Wedding Photoshoot
Each photoshoot is completely customised, and I spend a lot of time planning the perfect itinerary and offering suggestions for you to get the most out of your engagement photography. Many couples love including a combination of locations, and you can see some examples of popular combinations and possible itineraries below.
I am able to recommend makeup artists and hair stylists, and I have a large number of contacts in London and around the world who are able to come to your hotel on the morning of your shoot. I can also recommend hotels that are in the best location to make the most of your photography session. This is useful if we are travelling between areas and spending multiple days on your shoot.
For pre-wedding photography packages that involve travelling between locations, I am also able to provide transport options or drive us about so we can explore some of the more remote locations. Destinations such as Iceland, the Scottish Highlands, Santorini and many more will benefit from having a car so that we can drive between locations, explore some of the more remote and unique locations and really make the most from your adventure.

Pre Wedding Photoshoot: FAQ’s
When is the best time of year for our pre wedding photoshoot in London?
A: Any time of year is great for pre-wedding shoots in London! Spring and early summer are perfect for warmer weather, fresh flowers and greenery, and natural locations such as the London Royal Parks make perfect spring and summer backdrops. Autumn colours are always lovely between October and December, and Winter, though colder, can offer a completely different feel to the rest of the year, especially over the Christmas period when Christmas lights and decorations are up. Each season has its own unique feel for pre-wedding photography shoots, so there’s never a bad time!
What is a pre-wedding photoshoot? Is it the same as engagement photography?
A pre-wedding photoshoot is also often referred to as an engagement shoot, but there are a few differences. An engagement session is typically a short session in more casual attire compared to a pre-wedding shoot, which is a little more than this. Pre-wedding shoots can be a short session but can also take place over multiple days in multiple locations (and even in different countries). Both pre-wedding and engagement photography give you a chance to capture images in locations that reflect your personality and style. They also give you an opportunity to work with me before the big day and find out just how easy it is to work with me.
Why should we have our pre-wedding photoshoot in the UK?
Choosing the UK as your pre-wedding destination is a great choice, filled with epic locations and incredible possibilities. From city shoots with the backdrop of London to the natural beauty and landscapes of Scotland's Highlands, the UK offers so many settings for your pre-wedding photoshoot. Having your engagement photos in the UK also gives you the possibility of combining different locations to give you a variety of different backdrops for your pre-wedding images. Many couples choose to combine London with Scotland for an amazing blend of city and natural locations. Get in touch to discuss your ideas, and I would love to give you some ideas for an incredible shoot.
Can you give us recommendations for the best pre-wedding photoshoot locations in London and Scotland?
Absolutely! London is full of iconic locations such as Tower Bridge, London Eye, Westminster and London’s stunning Royal Parks. For those thinking of Scotland for their pre-wedding photoshoot, the Isle of Skye, Edinburgh, and the breathtaking landscapes of Glencoe are some of my favourite locations in the UK. Each of these locations offers a unique backdrop for your images and you can explore some sample shoots from these locations on this page and throughout my site. Explore some of these recommended locations above or get in touch for more ideas on incredible ideas for a pre-wedding photoshoot.
How should we prepare for our destination pre-wedding photoshoot?
Organising a destination photoshoot involves some additional planning, but the rewards can be amazing. I love working with couples for destination pre-weddings, and the first step is selecting the perfect location. Once you have this then think about the best time for your photoshoot, and coordinating logistics like accommodation and transport. I work closely with you to navigate the details, such as planning the shoot's timing around optimal lighting conditions. Additionally, consider the visual theme of your shoot to ensure your attire and ideas integrate with your chosen destination.
What are the best outfit choices for our pre-wedding shoot?
Choosing outfits should reflect your personal style so it’s difficult to tell you exactly what to wear. Some couples (typically from Asia), will bring a variety of wedding dresses for their shoot. Other couples go for a casual vibe and the choice is really yours. For longer sessions, I recommend a few different outfits to give you a range of looks in your photographs, and incorporating multiple outfits can add lots of variety to your images.
How can we personalise our pre-wedding photoshoot?
Personalising your session can be done in a number of ways. You can involve hobbies, interests, or personal props into your session. The biggest tip for personalising a session is to start with the location. Choose somewhere you feel reflects your personality. Whether it's including your love for adventure through a scenic hike and epic locations or capturing images in the location where your love story started, personal touches like these make your photos unique to you. I love working with couples to come up with a creative story for their pre-wedding adventure.
When is the ideal time to schedule our pre wedding shoot?
Anytime before your wedding is fine for a pre-wedding photoshoot, but ideally, 3-6 months before your actual wedding works well and allows a good amount of time.
Can we use our pre-wedding photos in our wedding?
Yes of course! Your images can be used for creating personalised wedding invitations, designing a personalised guest book or for a creative wedding background, table decorations, or a photo slideshow during your reception. Lots of couples love to share their pe wedding journey with friends and family on their wedding day, making your celebration even more memorable.
When is the best time of day to have a pre-wedding shoot?
This depends on how long your pre-wedding shoot is, but I always recommend timing your session to include the golden hour just before sunset. Sunset light if always amazing and gives you some amazing natural light images that make every couple look their best. Plus, it's a great opportunity for us to capture those perfect moments with natural lighting.
Will a pre-wedding photoshoot help us get comfortable in front of the camera?
Most couples I work with are not used to being in front of the camera and might feel a little stiff at first. I promise you that I'm great at getting couples to relax and that the whole process will be far easier than you imagined. A pre-wedding shoot is a great opportunity for you to get used to the camera and work with me before your wedding. I’ll keep things relaxed and natural and make sure the whole experience is fun and natural.
Can we include specific themes or ideas in our pre-wedding photography shoot?
Yes of course! Whether it’s a particular theme you're interested in or ideas for locations, poses or props, it's completely your shoot and I will help you make sure that it reflects your personality and ideas as a couple. Let me know what you have in mind, and I will work with you to make it happen.
Should we have our pre-wedding photography at our wedding venue
Choosing your wedding venue for your pre-wedding shoot can be a good idea, especially if the venue has sentimental value or stunning scenery; it’s also a great way to familiarize yourselves with the venue. However, you will be having your wedding day photographs at your venue, so it might be a good idea to choose a different location that gives you some contrast to your wedding photos.
Is a pre-wedding shoot a bad idea if we're shy and don’t like kissing in public?
Personally, I think camera shyness is a reason to definitely have a pre-wedding shoot! If you are uncomfortable in front of the camera then taking the chance to work with me before the wedding will show you just how easy the whole process is. It reassures you before the wedding day and makes you much more relaxed when it comes to your wedding. If you are really shy, then I can recommend some very quiet locations to avoid any crowds.
How do we choose the best pre-wedding photographer for us?
Choosing a photographer is a very personal decision, so look through my portfolio of images from the UK and around the world to see if my style speaks to you and if you think we would be a good fit for your ideas. Get in touch, and we can discuss options and start planning the perfect pre-wedding photography shoot.
